Cambridge To Improve Permitting Processes And Citizen Engagement With EnerGov 9 Enterprise Server™ Platform.

Cambridge, home to Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has selected EnerGov Solutions to improve efficiency and public access in managing its permitting and business licensing processes throughout the city.

The EnerGov 9 Enterprise Server™ platform will enable the city to streamline and better manage its regulatory processes and allow city officials, inspectors, and citizens to efficiently retrieve and access information for the city's large number of permits and licenses.

EnerGov's front-end Citizen Access portal will help the city enhance citizen engagement by enabling businesses and residents to apply, pay for, and track their permit and business license applications online.  With EnerGov's GIS Server, another benefit users will have is the ability to spatially pinpoint and pull information such as code violations and permit applications on specific parcels, lots, and addresses in the city.

The city will also improve buidling and field inspections with EnerGov's Mobile solutions, technology that will help field inspectors manage their reviewing processes and checklists while on site.

A proven track record and impeccable client satisfaction was another key factor in the city's decision to award the contract to EnerGov.  EnerGov's professional services division will provide 1,500 hours of software rollout, configuration, report development, on-site training, and continuing education for the city's 30 users under the five-year $771,000 contract.

"Cambridge has long exhibited a commitment to excellence in the provision of civic services and the EnerGov platform will certainly advance this initiative," said Garth Magness, Vice President and Regional Business Development Manager for EnerGov Solutions.  "We are excited about this opportunity and look forward to a successful partnership with the city."
