Bonita Springs To Implement EnerGov 9 Enterprise Server™ Platform

The city of Bonita Springs, FL, has selected EnerGov Solutions to replace its current permitting system with the EnerGov 9 Enterprise Server™ platform to meet the city’s needs for e-Permitting and improve citizen engagement.

The city will replace its existing permitting system with EnerGov’s Permitting & Land Management software to streamline regulatory processes for permitting, planning, and project reviews.  In addition, EnerGov’s front-end Citizen Access portal will enable businesses and residents to apply for permits and schedule inspections online. With the same platform, the city will continue to use EnerGov to handle code enforcement, inspections, and citizen requests.  The city expects to see improved efficiencies and collaboration between constituents and the Code Enforcement and Community Development departments with an automated and seamless permitting and enforcement process.

The back-office system the city has been using for three years was already difficult to administer and expand, according to the city’s Communication and Information Planner, Greg Smith.

“We immediately saw an opportunity to enhance productivity and provide an even higher quality of customer service by unifying the two departmental business processes with EnerGov’s enterprise land management solution,” Smith said.

EnerGov’s outstanding support was also another factor in Bonita Springs’ decision to overhaul its current system despite the lower cost to upgrade it.

“Implementing a brand new product was more expensive than upgrading our legacy software, but it was worth the cost since it was more suitable to our needs,” Smith said.  “EnerGov’s reputation for excellent customer service was also a major factor in our decision.”

“Our reputation for customer services has been well-known for years,” said Garth Magness, EnerGov’s VP of Sales.  “We are delighted to welcome Bonita Springs to the rapidly growing EnerGov family.”

EnerGov’s professional services will provide software rollout, configuration, data conversion, report development, and on-site training for 25 users between the city’s code enforcement department and third-party consultants.
